REBECCA GUTHRIE ATKINSON
Rebecca GUTHRIE was born in Guthrie Grove, Lee County, Illinois in 1844. She married in 1865 to Willis [sic...should read William G] LEE, and they became the parents of six children, two of which are living, Mr B. F. [Benj. Franklin] LEE and Ida, who is now Mrs Charles CAWLEY. On December 23, 1879 LEE died in Nodaway county, Missouri. On May 24, 1885, Mrs LEE was united in marriage to Mr William H ATKINSON. To this union there was but one child born, Levi E ATKINSON of Oakdale with who she made her home since the death of Mr ATKINSON, which was September 1923. Mrs ATKINSON passed away July 7, 1925. She was 79 years, 3 months and 9 days old. Grandma ATKINSON was an invalid for 8 years but thru it all she was most patient and cheerful. Her latter years were marked by great faith and earnestness and disposition to serve others. She was a member of the Adventist Church for 25 years. The remains were laid to rest in the beautiful Oakdale Cemetery to await the voice of the life giver. Services were conducted at the United Brethren Church by Elder S. G. HAUGHEY of Grand Island, Nebraska
