John E. Scannell, 68, a resident of Iron Mountain for the last 50 years, died at 8:15 p.m. Wednesday evening at home, 1017 River Avenue, following a lingering illness.
He moved to Norway, Michigan in 1881 & a year later came to Iron Mountain.
During most of that time he was employed at the Chapin Iron Ore Mine. Beside his widow, Catherine, a daughter, Mrs. A. B. Bracco survives; also a sister, Mrs. Mary Kane &
a brother, P. H. Scannell.
