Gale Harrison Sells, age 67, died on Wednesday August 29, 2012 at St. Jude Hospital in California after a long battle with cancer.

Mr. Sells is survived by his ex-wife Linda, brother Randall, daughter Aymee and son-in-law Gabriel. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Arianna, Robert, Cody and Ayden and of course his beloved dog Brandi.

He is preceded in death by his Father, Durward Sells, Mother Ruth Sells and grand-daughter Deven.

Watching my father die slowly over the past year from cancer was one of the most difficult things I have ever gone through. As difficult as it was on me, I know it had to be even more difficult on my father.

A Few More Minutes

Just a minute more, Daddy I cried.
I don't want to go inside right now.
Give me one more piggyback ride.

Just another minute, Daddy, I said when I was ten.
I'm not really ready to go to bed yet,
but won't you please come tuck me in?

Wait a minute, Daddy, I said when I was a teen.
My friends don't have a curfew.
How could you be so mean?

I'll talk to you soon, Dad, I said as I left for school.
I've got to get this stuff in the car,
my apartment is going to be so cool!!!

I don't have the time now, dad, I said at the end of the day.
A project is due, my boss is mad, and I've got so many bills to pay.

Can I call you back in an hour, Dad? I asked as the kids went to bed.
They're cranky, and they're driving me crazy, they won't listen to a word I've said.

Just a minute more, Daddy, I cried as you took your last breath.
It's not time to go to heaven now, I just need a little more time, then you can rest.
