ABNER, Opal Age 94, of Hamilton, on May 13, 2012, departed this life and went to her heavenly home. She was born on April 18, 1918 at Mason Creek, Perry County, Kentucky, the daughter of William Hartley and Geneva (Caudill) Combs. She married Edward Abner on November 10, 1939 in Liberty, Indiana and he preceded her in death in 1990 after 50 years together. She retired from Marsh Supermarkets after 27 years of service. She was a member of the Darrtown Baptist Church, dearly loved her family, picnics and holidays. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning, and she enjoyed many years of caring for her mother. She is survived by one son, Richard Abner and wife, Tammy, two daughters, Bonnie Krauth and Paulette Johnston and husband, Acie; a brother, Dave Combs and wife, Carrol; a sister, Jewel Schaney; all of Hamilton: four grandchildren, Kari Feltner, Amy Beckett, LeAnn Trentman and Bradley Abner; four great grandchildren, Amanda Turco, Russell Feltner, Jessica Beckett and Tristan Trentman; seven great, great grandchildren, Cameron, Kaiden and Kayleigh Turco, Elyssa, Emily, Erin and Windon Feltner; loving nieces and nephews and the sons and family of her departed friends, Carl and Gladys Reece. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother Wallace Combs and wife Ella, a sister, Madelene Combs, brother-in-law, Bob Schaney. Private graveside services for the family will be held at Millville Cemetery with Rev. Paul Tillett and Pastor Joe Tassell officiating. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Westover and Evercare Hospice for the loving care they gave our mother.
