William (Roy) worked for the Western Maryland Railroad. He worked at Pen-Mar Park, for park maintance. His home was located on the present day Edgemont Road, near Blue Mountain, beside his brother-in-law William Nelson Hahn.
OBITUARY :
WILLIAM R. CARBAUGH, a resident of Blue Mountain for the last 45 years, died suddenly at 7:15 o'clock last might while talking with members of his family, aged 69. He had been subject to heart attacks for several years.
He was born near New Baltimore, Franklin county, Pa., the son of Caleb and Susan (Hartsock) Carbaugh.
He was a member of the Church of God, Blue Mountain and a charter member of Pen Mar Council, Jr. O. U. A. M.
He was married 47 years ago to Amanda Hahn.
His wife and the following survive: Children, Keller, Johnstown, Pa.; Mrs. John Welty, Smithsburg; Mrs. Charles Fager, near Smithsburg; Mrs. Hubert Kendell, Waynesboro; 19 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and a brother, James, near Smithsburg.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon, services at 3' o'clock at the Church of God, Blue Mountain. Revs. S. B. Myers and Levi Carbaugh officiating. Interment in Smithsburg cemetery. The body may be viewed from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Grove Funeral Home, Waynesboro.
