John Curell was born September 1, 1892 to
Wilbur and Emma Curell in the state of
Nebraska. He passed away suddenly at his
home in Axtell, Kansas on Monday, August
16, 1971 at the age of 78 years, 11 months
and 16 days.
He was united in marriage to Lillian Wage on
October 7, 1919 and to this union seven
children were born. Mr. Curell, a veteran of
World War I, had live most of his life in the
Vermillion and Axtell vicinities. Recently he
retired and moved to Axtell where he resided
with a son and daughter until his death.
His wife, Lillian, and one son preceded him
in death. He is survived by four daughters,
Dorothy, of Axtell, Kansas, Mrs. Arlene
Myers, Beresford, South Dakota, Mrs. Thelma
Clark, Phoney, Arizona, Mrs. Marjorie Berry,
Kansas City, Missouri; two sons, Donald
Curell, Sunfield, Michigan, and Argyl Curell,
Axtell, Kansas. Also surviving are seven
grandchildren, and one brother.
Memorial services were held Thursday in the
Landreth-Thornburg chapel with Reverend
Robert Boyle officiating.
Casket bearers were Ernest Boyle, John L.
Winquist, Benton Luse, Regis Rochel, A.P.
Dick, Morson Akin.
Interment was in the Frankfort Cemetery,
Frankfort, Kansas.
