Laura Maude Townsend, 76, of Douglas, died on Sept. 12th at the Converse County Memorial Hospital following a short illness. She was born in Avoca, Kansas. She married John S. Townsend on March 23, 1923 at Topeka, Kansas and moved to Douglas 37 years ago from Holton, Kansas. She is survived by two sons, Bill G. and John L. Townsend, both of Douglas; in addition to six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a daughter.
