Jim, or as he liked to be called "Ernie" was the oldest of eight children. He was born to Pearl Jane Gritton and George D. Spetsas, a.k.a. Thymaras. He was actually born in the mining town of Copperfield, Utah; the town no longer exists and the next closest one is Copperton in Bingham Canyon. He spent most of his life in Salt Lake City, Utah. The last six years were spent in Colorado with a niece. He had many struggles but always smiled. Jim loved children, cats and dogs.
