Dr. William O. Bailey, 76, died in Jewish Hospital at 2:30 a.m. Friday. He suffered a stroke of apoplexy seven weeks ago in his summer home on Preston St. Rd. He was born in Shelbyville and came here in childhood. An eye, ear, nose and throat specialist, he studied at medical schools here and in New York and Philadelphia. Formerly associated with Dr. Leon Solomon, he had offices in the Francis Building 25 years. He had been resident physician at the Illinois Central Hospital, Paducah, and belonged to many medical societies.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lorena S. Bailey, and a brother, Hewitt Bailey. Burial will be in Cave Hill Cemetery.
