Born in June 1935 to John L. and Phebe A. Stotelmyer, she grew up on a beautiful farm just outside of Hagerstown. Peg, as she was known to her family and friends, went to school in Boonsboro and lived in several places throughout her life, finally settling in Dunnellon, Fla., for her retirement. Peg enjoyed gardening and arts and crafts and was an accomplished painter.
Peg is survived her brother, Philip R. Stotelmyer (Evelyn); her sister, Jean C. Swenson (Arnold); and her nieces and nephews, Mark Stotelmyer (Rhoda), Lisa Myers (Mike), Kathy Stotelmyer, Timothy Swenson (Jan), Gary Swenson (Leslie), Carol Barrett (Mark) and Daniel Swenson (Jenny), as well as several great-nieces and nephews. Peg is also survived by her longtime friends and "surrogate" family Ruth Marshall, Don Hart and Rachel Hart who reside in Dunnellon.
A memorial service will be planned in the spring to honor her life.
