WORCESTER - Anthony F. DeAngelis, 74, a longtime Worcester business owner passed away Monday, November 12th, 2012, with his family by his side, joining his wife and two children who predeceased him.
Anthony was born in Worcester, a son of Anthony and Antoinette (Pirozzi) DeAngelis. He graduated from North High School. He then entered Holy Cross College, earning his Bachelor's degree in business, and his commission through U.S. Navy ROTC. He entered the Navy serving as an officer until 1964. He also married his wife, partner and best friend for the next 51 years, Louise J. (Piccirelli) DeAngelis.
Anthony began his employed years working for the IBM Corporation. Together with Louise, they decided to form their own business and for the next many years owned and operated TelServ Corporation, Apex Answering Service and the Medical Bureau Telephone Exchange before retiring in 1998.
Anthony's wife Louise passed away in 2011, their daughter, Dana L. DeAngelis-McDonald passed away in 1997 and an infant passed away at birth. He was also predeceased by his brother, Salvatore DeAngelis. Anthony is survived by his devoted son and daughter-in-law, his sister, many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Anthony was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Worcester. In his youth, Anthony loved to play the accordion, perform as a member of a band and sing in a glee club. He enjoyed a spirited conversation, to laugh, entertain company and spend time on Cape Cod. Most of all he loved being with his family and friends, they were his life's inspiration.
The family also wishes to express their gratitude to those who cared for Anthony especially his wonderful and loving home health aides.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Friday, November 16th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral will be held Saturday morning, November 17th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in St John's Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the National Ataxia Foundation, 2600 Fernbrook Lane, Suite 119, Minneapolis MN 55447-4752
