Charles Monroe Slaymaker, Sr., 80, Bradenton, Florida died at a local hospital August 24th. He was born in Whiteside county, Illinois and moved to Bradenton 8 years ago from Springfield, Illinois.

He was a retired civil engineer for the State of Illinois. He belonged to the Emeth Lodge No 1030 AF & AM, East St. Louis, Illinois; Springfield Chapter No 1 of the Royal Arch Masons, Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of East St Louis, Elwood Commandery No. 6 Knights Templer, Springfield, Ill, Ill Society of Professional Engineers and American society of Civil Engineers.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Slaymaker, Bradenton, son, Charles M. Slaymaker, Jr., Chicago, three brothers Albert and Harris of Erie, Illinois and Jesse of Minnesota and one sister, Mrs. Agnes Ford, Geneseo Illinois and two grandsons.

Funeral services were held at Griffith-Cline Funeral Home, Bradenton, Florida August 28th at 10 a.m. Burial was in Sky Way Memorial Gardens, Palmetto, Florida.
