Albert Sherman Hamlin, 77, Dies Early Saturday. Albert Sherman Hamlin, Grand Junction, former resident of several slope communities, died at St. Mary's Hospital early today. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin Chapel, with the Rev. O. Sundal officiating. Burial is to be in the Orchard Mesa Cemetery. Mr. Hamlin was born Oct. 25, 1866, at Riceford, MN. He left there at the age of 16, going to Vichy, MO. He married Maggie Hibler Jan. 30, 1889, at Vichy. Mr. and Mrs. Hamlin moved to Denver soon after their marriage and they went to Vernal, UT, in 1894. In 1898, the family moved back to eastern Colorado, residing in Denver, Eaton, Fort Collins, and Ault. A few years later the family went to northwest Colorado, residing in Craig, Meeker, and Rifle. While he resided at Craig, Mr. Hamlin engaged in contracting. He built five miles of the D. & S. L. Railroad between Hayden and Craig. He engaged in farming part of the time. Mr. Hamlin had been a resident of Grand Junction for the past 13 years. Mrs. Hamlin and an infant son preceded Mr. Hamlin in death. Survivors are three sons, Charles R. Hamlin, 833 White, Albert L. Hamlin, Salinas, CA, and Ernest Hamlin, Del Paso Heights, CA; and two daughters, Mrs. Gladys E. Cozad, Hazelton, ID, and Mrs. Inglys N. McKay, Denver.
