Mitzi was born in Lubbock, Texas on August 12, 1949, the second daughter of Wanda and Judd Estep. She moved to Plano in 1957 and attended Mendenhall Elementary in Plano, graduating from Plano High School in 1967. She and her sister, Charlotte, were active in the First Baptist Church of Plano and the Plano Wildcats Marching Band. After high school, she joined Delta Air Lines as a flight attendant in 1969 and flew across the United States and internationally until the mid-1990s. Mitzi greatly enjoyed seeing the world and passed on her love of travel to her family, who accompanied her on trips as they were able. Mitzi changed her career course to education and business in the late 1990s, graduating from Dallas Baptist University in 1996 with her Masters of Business Administration and a second Masters in 1997. She taught business principles in corporate training sessions and in high schools. Mitzi became a certified teacher and taught at Plano East Senior High School and Clear Creek High School in League City, Texas. She also was known and loved by many as a substitute teacher across Plano ISD over the past few years. Mitzi was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church and an active member of the Roaring Lambs Bible Study of Dallas, Texas. She enjoyed passing on her knowledge and care to others wherever she went. Mitzi is survived by her daughter, Brittany Lou Kelly, her son-in-law, Ed Kelly, her mother, Wanda Lou Estep, and her sister, Charlotte Estep. She is preceded in death by her father Judd Estep. The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 14, 2012 from 5-7:00 PM at Allen Family Funeral Options, Plano, Texas. There will be a funeral service to celebrate Mitzi's life on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Prestonwood Baptist Church, Faith Chapel, 6801 W Park, Plano, Texas 75093 with Neal Jeffrey officiating. Mitzi will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery, Melissa, Texas.
