Lisa M. Prom
Lisa Prom of Port Washington, passed away in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton. She was 50 years old.
Lisa was born in Milwaukee on November 29, 1971, the youngest daughter of Sylvester Prom and Madeline Ansay Prom. Lisa was born with Cornelia De Lange Syndrome, a very rare genetic condition. She grew up in Port Washington and graduated from Grafton High School.
Lisa attended Portal Industries, where she was involved in Special Olympic bowling and other activities. After leaving Portal, she had one on one care at Balance, Inc. In 2015, with the help of her sister Linda, Lisa started with the Iris Program, a state sponsored self-directed care program.
Lisa was a member of St. John XXIII Parish. She enjoyed music and often traveled to Milwaukee to the Conservatory of Music where she liked to play different instruments. Lisa also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially on family vacations.
She is survived by her father Sylvester of Port Washington, her eight siblings: Michael (Rexanne) Prom of West Bend, Norman (Joy) Prom of Janesville, Doris (Ron) Peterson of Oklahoma, Neil (Diane) Prom of Hortonville, Randy (Mary) Prom of Elkhorn, Linda (Rick) Mitchell of Port Washington, Wayne (Sherry) Prom of Oconomowoc, and Ronald (Joan) Prom of Grafton. She is further survived by brother-in-law Charles Nitzke of Port Washington, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends. She is preceded in death by her mother Madeline and her sister Barbara Nitzke.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 1 PM at St. John XXIII Parish, St. Mary's Church, 451 N. Johnson St., Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside over the Mass. She will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery in Port Washington. Visitation for Lisa will be at the Church on Thursday, April 7th from 12-1 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested.
