Marion Virginia Eklund, 86, a native of Rockford, passed away at 8:50 p.m. March 23, 2005, in Provena St. Anne Center after a short illness. She was born Sept. 28, 1918, to Raymond and Esther Wilcox. Marion was a retired employee of the city Election Board and a longtime supportive member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford. She is survived by her son, Bradley D. (Allison) Eklund of Mobile, Ala; sister, Jeanne (Allen) Cramer of Rockford; sister-in-law, Lucy Eklund of Rockford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John E. Eklund; and brother-in-law, Jerry Eklund.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 28, in Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service, 7000 W. State St., with the Rev. Kathrin Whitney and the Rev. Jay Quinn co-officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment in Willwood Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations to Trinity Lutheran Church, or Parkinson's Disease Foundation, Gift Processing Center, Box 96268, Washington, DC 20090. 3-26-2
