Marion Virginia Eklund, 86, a native of Rockford, passed away at 8:50 p.m. March 23, 2005, in Provena St. Anne Center after a short illness. She was born Sept. 28, 1918, to Raymond and Esther Wilcox. Marion was a retired employee of the city Election Board and a longtime supportive member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rockford. She is survived by her son, Bradley D. (Allison) Eklund of Mobile, Ala; sister, Jeanne (Allen) Cramer of Rockford; sister-in-law, Lucy Eklund of Rockford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John E. Eklund; and brother-in-law, Jerry Eklund.
Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 28, in Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service, 7000 W. State St., with the Rev. Kathrin Whitney and the Rev. Jay Quinn co-officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment in Willwood Burial Park.
