Eva Wray Martin, 93, of 3534 Lawndale Drive, Greensboro, N.C., died Monday, Jan. 18, 1999, at Wesley Long Nursing Center.
She was born Aug. 23, 1905, in Rockingham County, N.C., to the late John Wesley Wray and the late Effie Smith Wray.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry G. Martin; one son, Henry G. Martin, Jr; four brothers, Wesley, Caleb, Otis and William Wray; and three sisters, Lessie Wray, Jannie Merryman and Ollie Buckner.
Surviving are one daughter, Peggy Atlas of Greensboro; a half brother, Roger Wray of Cary, NC; a sister, Frances Linville of Norfolk [VA]; a half sister, Ravenel Crouch of Mayodan, NC; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
There will be a graveside funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday, Roselawn Burial Park. Pastor Lee Hendricks will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Norris Funeral Service and other times at the home of Doug Martin, 520 Ellsworth Court, Ridgeway.
