Alan graduated from Anderson High School and received his Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice from Anderson University. He served his country in the Air Force and Army National Guard.
He is a retired Security Guard for Pendleton Correctional Facility.
He loved to play golf, basketball, baseball and bowling.
Alan is survived by his loving spouse whom he married , Sharon (Allen) Chastain, of Anderson, IN, son, AJ Chastain, son, Michael Chastain, grandson, Ian Chastain, grandson, Stephen Chastain, brother, Daniel (Carolyn) Chastain, sister, Janetta Stills, sister, Cindy Toombs, uncle, Donald (Joyce) Chastain, mother-in-law, Virginia Allen, cousin, John Chastain, cousin, Roger Chastain and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Chastain and father-in-law, Jack Allen.
Visitation will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory, 200 West 53rd St. Anderson, Indiana.
Services will be Monday, November 19, 2012, 2:30 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Ned Clark officiating.
Burial will take place in the I.O.O.F Cemetery, Alexandria with military rites by the VFW Post #266.
