Although Hubert's actual death was in St Frances Hospital in Memphis, he was born and reared in Franklin County, AL.. He was a US Army Korean Veteran spending most of his time in Germany.. He lived in Kenosha, Wis. and Zion, Ill. for a few years in the early 1950's.. Married to Jenny L. Parrish on Feb 12, 1951, in Fulton, MS by Bro. B.C. Chism...Preceded in death by his parents; James Aubrey Barker and Mattie Cordelia Day; son, Keith Barker; and 12 brothers & sisters.. Follow the links to see them.

Surviving him are two daughters; Rhonda Altom and Lesia Barker; one sister, Mary Margaret Barker Lipe; one brother, Buddy Wes Barker.

Until his bout in the Army, Hubert was the happiest, most kind-hearted, jovial person, one could want to meet. With laughing, twinkling blue eyes and dark-dark curly hair, he was simply the most handsome man in the area.. He looked like a young Lash LaRue and sang like Hank Williams..
