"Louisa Vindiola passed away on August 9, 2008 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born March 20, 1919 in Douglas, Arizona to Emma Amada Torralva and Florencio Lopez. Her siblings were Florencio Lopez, Dora Montoy, Alfredo Lopez, Emma Bernal, Ruben Lopez and Alvina Alvarez. She married Santiago "Babe" Vindiola October 15, 1938 in Douglas, Arizona. Louisa and Babe opened and operated the La Fiesta Café, a well-known restaurant at 524 8th Street for approximately 30 years. Louisa was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Parish. Surviving her is her husband Santiago "Babe" Vindiola; daughters Norma Irene Vindiola and Sylvia Whitlock; grandchildren Rick Nelson, Cathy Nelson, Lorraine Sarlat, Elaine Vindiola, Suzy Vindiola, Marianne Vindiola, Audrey Forenza, J. J. Whitlock; thirteen great-grandchildren and sister, Alvina Alvarez. She is pre-deceased by son, Jimmy Vindiola; granddaughter, Cynthia Vindiola; sister, Dora Montoy and brothers, Florencio Lopez, Alfredo Lopez and Ruben Lopez. Memorial services will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, August 15, 2008 with a Rosary being recited at 10:30 am followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 am with Father James Baka officiating. Louisa will be remembered as a person of great faith and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother."
