Olive was born June17, 1916, the first of six children of Clement and Lily Stelter Kindschy, in Groton, South Dakota. She spent her youth in Hingham and Fort Assinaboine, Montana, where her parent's families settled to farm.
After graduating from Havre High School she moved with a friend to Yakima, Washington and took a job with a local photographer. After learning the trade, she moved to Ephrata and opened her own studio.
Olive married Warren Huston in the late 1950's and became a dedicated and devoted farm wife. Warren farmed potatoes and developed apple orchards and later expanded to cattle ranching, becoming a prominent local businessman, and Olive tended to vegetable and flower gardens, chickens and pets.
Olive and Warren enjoyed traveling to Neah Bay to fish for salmon and dig clams.
They enjoyed many close friendships in Quincy and Wenatchee and Yakima.
Olive had no children of her own, but was very close to Warren's grandsons Dan and Mike Huston, and she was the favorite aunt of several nieces and nephews who loved to visit the farm.
After Warren died in December, 2001, Olive, moved to Spokane to be closer to family and services. She died November 2, 2012. She is survived by three siblings, Warren's grandsons, 7 nieces and 1 nephew.
