Bleecker, N.Y.—Laurence H. Ferguson, 53, until recently of Centereach, L.I.,
died at his home here of a gunshot wound Sunday. Ferguson formerly was
employed as an electrical engineer with the William J. McCormack
Corp.'s Sand Division in Roslyn, L.I. He lived at 11 Sycamore St, Centereach,
until moving upstate about two years ago and starting his own electrical
contracting business. He had lived in Centereach for approximately 25
years and had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign wars there.
Ferguson was a veteran of 11 years of Navy service, including World
War II, when he served aboard the aircraft carrier Leyte and on destroyers
and cruisers, attaining the rank of warrant officer. He was bom in Carroll
County, Miss. Ferguson's death was under investigation by the Fulton County
Coroner's office.
