CULLOM - Frank Thomas Gunther Jr., 57, of Cullom route 1,died at 7 p.m. Friday, July 15, 1994, at his home following an extended illness.

A memorial service will be held later .

Cremation rites will be accorded. Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Cullom, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Gunther was born Sept. 3, 1936, at Oak Park, a son of Frank T. and Marjorie M. (Meenan) Gunther. He married Sandra Maxine Haag in 1958. She survives.

Also surviving are his mother, Cullom; four sons, Thomas A. of San Ramon, Calif., John of Hayward, Calif., James of Fairbury and Peter of rural Cullom, and five grandchildren, Monica, Ben, Alicia, Kyle and Kyra Gunther.

His father and an infant granddaughter preceded him in death.

Mr. Gunther was a 1954 graduate of Oak Park High School and a 1959 graduate of Bradley University at Peoria. He was employed for six years by Minnesota Mining and later was a general contractor and president of Exco, Inc. of Cullom. Ill health forced him t retire in August 1990.

He was a troop leader for the Boy Scouts at Cullom and, in 1982, was an active participant in the Centennial Pageant at Cullom. He also was a skilled musician, playing by ear.

The faminly suggests memorials be made to a memorial fund which will be established in h is name.

CULLOM -- A memorial service for Frank Thomas Gunther, Jr. 57, of rural Cullom, a retired contracting firm president, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Cullom United Methodist Church. The Rev. James C. Elder will officiate.

Private inurnment will be in West Lawn Cemetery, Cullom.

Harris-Martin-Burke Funeral Home, Cullom, is in charge of arrangement.

Mr. Gunther died Friday, July 15, 1994, at his home. He had been ill.

The family suggests memorials be made to a fund in his name.
