Johnny Ames, 83 of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012.
Johnny was born in Port Arthur to Frank M. Ames and Girolama Palermo Ames on February 14, 1929. He was a lifelong resident of this area.
Johnny was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5145, a 50 year member of Painters Local #328. He was a light featherweight in the Golden Gloves. He served in the U. S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Jewell Florine Ames of Port Arthur, his daughter, Lola Ann Dever of Port Arthur, six grandchildren, Damon Monroe Fields and wife Jean, James Wilson Fields, Justin Lee Ames, Jason Lynn Ames, Joshua Luke Ames and wife Leslie and Jeremy Logan Ames, six great grandchildren and a future great granddaughter, brother, Paul Ames of Groves, sisters, Gloria Trahan of Port Arthur and Jackie Mize of Soldotna, Alaska.
Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
