Christina Ross of Unionville,
died Monday, June 13,
1988, at Munson Medical
Center, Traverse City, following
a short illness. She was 74.
Mrs. Ross was born January
8, 1914 in Chicago, Ill.,
the daughter of Henry and
Christina (Zeier) Yens and
moved to the Silverwood area
as a child. She married Floyd
Ross on March 22, 1941 at
Silverwood and the couple
then moved to Detroit. They
resided in the Unionville area
for the past 10 years. She
was a homemaker and a lifelong
member of the Lutheran
Church, the last 10 years at
St. Paul Lutheran Church in
Unionville.
Survivors include her husband,
Floyd; a son, Floyd E.
Ross of Birmingham; two
daughters, Betty (Mrs. Karl)
Gottschalk of New Baltimore;
and Dee (Mrs. Michael) Peet
of Mayville; three grandchildren;
four sisters, Sophie
Watson of North Branch;
Anna LaPratt and Amelia
Nowakowski, both of Caro
and Elizabeth Jacques of
Utica; four brothers, Alex
Yens of Kingston, Casper
Yens and Carl Yens, both of
Silverwood; and Frederick
Yens of Detroit; and many
nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by a brother,
Henry Yens.
Friends may call at the
Huston & Ransford Funeral
Home, Caro, after 7 pm,
Wed, June 15. Funeral services
will be held at 1:30 pm,
Friday, June 17, at St. Paul
Lutheran Church, Unionville.
The Rev. Paul F. Stohlmann
will officiate, with burial in
the Rich Township Cemetery
of Lapeer County near Mayville.
Memorial contributions
are suggested to the St. Paul
Lutheran Church, Unionville,
or the American Diabetes
Association.
