According to transcriptions in "The Virginia Halsteads" it states Kedar was buried at Magnolia Cemetery. He was married twice, 1st to Sarah Emma Rogers on or about 1857. They had two known children Emma Virginia and Thomas Alonzo Halstead. His 2nd marriage was on 12 Jun 1881 to Deborah Ann Cooper, the one known child from the marriage was Amanda Gertrude Halstead.

Magnolia Cemetery is a different Cemetery from the Magnolia Section in the Riverside Cemetery, Riverside did not open until 1911 according to gentlemen I spoke with on 11-19-12. This confirms Kedar's burial at Magnolia Cemetery.

Mr. K.W. Halstead, formerly of this city, but of late a resident of Reidsville, N.C., died Wednesday morning at 2 a.m. He had been a sufferer for a long time from that dreaded disease, consumption. He leaves two children. His remains will arrive today and will be interred in Magnolia Cemetery.

The sad intelligence came from Reidsville, N.C., yesterday that Mr. K.W. Halstead, a well known and highly respected citizen, expired there at 2 o'clock on the morning of that day. For some time he had been in bad health and it was a hope he indulged that a change might have the effect of ameliorating his condition at least. Not so, for at the hour named, surrounded by his family. he calmly passed away. Mr. Halstead was a consistent member of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, toward the completion of which he liberally contributed his means and labor. He was unassuming in his demeanor, sociable in his business career, devoted and affectionate to his family. He maintained his sterling integrity in all the relations of life to the final close. His remains will arrive here Friday. Peace to his ashes.
