Mrs. Arthur Burnett Jr., Funeral, at Le Center
Final rites for Mrs. Arthur Burnett, Jr., 42 years of age, of Le Center, were held Thursday, last week. She had been ill for the past several months, and passed away Tuesday after, December 11, at her home.
A family service was held at the Hayden Funeral Home, in Le Center, at 1:30 p.m., and services were at the Methodist Church there, with Rev. Arthur Goold, officiating, at 2:00 p.m. Interment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery, in Elysian.
Pallbearers were Clarence Soulek, Art Bornholdt, Mike Hunt, Guy Loney, Roy Richter, and John LaFramboise.
Mrs. Burnett will be remembered as the former Dorothy Irene Heise, of Elysian. She was born April 5, 1920, and grew up in Elysian, where she attended school and was graduated from Waterville High School, in 1938. Her marriage to Arthur Burnett Jr., took place the following November, and they had since resided in the Le Center community. Mrs. Burnett had acquired many acquaintances in that community and much comfort and enjoyment were derived from their kindness, especially during her recent illness.
Surviving are her husband; one son, Richard; and one daughter, Shirley, all of Le center; her step-father and her mother, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bartelt of Waterville; two half-sisters: Mr. Wm. (Virginia) Brown of Maquoketa, IA., and Mrs. Donald (Beverly) Hoban of Austin; and two half-brothers: Robert Bartelt of Le Center, and Wm. Bartelt Jr. of Belle Plaine.
Mrs. Burnett was a niece of Mrs. Roscoe Haskell, of Elysian, and for many years, made her home here with her grandparents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Chas. P. Long, and Mr. and Mrs. Haskill.
