She was born April 5, 1935, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Jackson Sr. and Gladys Hickman Hudkins. She was a member of the River Hill United Methodist Church. She worked for the Wood County Board of Education for over 31 years. She was also the owner and operator of Patty Cake Rental.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Cody C. Reed; one son, Andrew Reed; two daughters, Mitzi Reed and Codie Reed; six grandchildren, Natali Petty, Jesse Barr, Shenae Trippett and Cole, Randi and Caleb Reed; two great-grandchildren, Levi Petty and Zoela Adkins; one sister, Garnetta Fitcher; and her best friend, June Osborne.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Reed; two brothers, Jackson Jr. and Nelson Hudkins; and one sister, Bonnie Hudkins.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at River Hill United Methodist Church, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Chuck Ferbee officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the River Hill United Methodist Church.
