A resident of Livingston and a native of St. Amant, she died at 7:15 p.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. She was 74. Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, on Wednesday, Aug. 23, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at St. Joseph Catholic Church, French Settlement, on Thursday from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Rubin Reynolds, celebrant. Interment in St. William Chapel Cemetery, Port Vincent. Survived by her brother,Livingston; two nieces and husbands, nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Juliet Matherne Loupe; a sister and two brothers. She loved quilting, gardening, fishing and everything outdoors.
