Pallbearers were Kenneth Ham, Louie Matejka, Clarence Hansen, Carl Lundberg, Ralph Slaughter and Charles Ritter.
Mrs. J. B. Slaughter and Mrs. Lena Nollkamper took care of the flowers and Kotrba Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Fulwider passed away suddenly at her home Wednesday eveneing, November 7.
Sallie C. Roberts, daughter of Henry C. and Elizabeth Roberts, was born February 5, 1872 at Camargo, Ill. She moved to Charles Mix County [S.D.] with her parents in 1883. There she attended school and later taught school near Platte.
On January 14, 1894, she was united in marriage with James Allen Fulwider. They resided in Charles Mix County until 1902 when they moved to Lyman County and established a ranch near Iona. In 1919 they moved to Gregory where they have since resided. Three children were born to this union, Irving, who passed away in infancy, Ben, who passed away in 1955, and Mrs. Neal (Donna) Slaughter, who lives in Gregory.
Mrs. Fulwider was one of the pioneer women of South Dakota. She was a member of the Congregational Church since 1922.
She leaves to mourn her passing her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Neal Slaughter; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ben Fulwider, of Mitchell; one granddaughter, Sally Slaughter; one grandson, Virgil Fulwider of Iona; two great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Judy Fulwider, both of Iona; one sister, Mrs. George Lundberg, of St. Petersburg, Florida; and many other relatives and friends. Her parents, two sons, five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Reed Fulwider, Mrs. Carl Lundberg, Nedra and Gary, and John and Eva Sully, all of Dixon; Mrs. Tom Fulwider and a number of old friends from Iona; Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sully, of Okreek; Mrs.Jessie Overton and Mrs. Leila Nelson, both of Winner; Marley Larlatt and Mrs. Marguerite Hiatt, of Spencer, Nebr.; Guy and melvin Bennett, of Geddes; and Mrs. Jessie Fulwider, Mrs. Lola Bain, and Mrs. Carl Hoy, all of Vermillion.
