Morice--James Francis 1914-2005
Jim Morice passed away at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on June 7, 2005 at the age of 90 years. He was born in Cabri, Saskatchewan and had a long and happy life. he was a guide at Mount Assiniboine in the 1930's, served with the Royal Canadian Artillery during World War II and was very proud of being a D-Day veteran. In the years after the war he was an instructor for Sun Electric, then spent many years as an auto mechanic in British Columbia. On retirement he and his loving wife Laurena spent fifteen very happy years traveling across Canada and the U.S. before setting down roots in Calgary. During his last few months he was a resident at the Colonel Belcher Veterans Care Centre. He is survived by son Wayne (Eileen); granddaughters, Leanne (Jim), and Heather (Jeff); great grandchildren, Arthur, Sara, and Carter; sisters Viola, Elaine, Gwynneth, Claudia and Signe. He was predeceased by his wife Laurena and brothers, Landels, and Jack. At his request there will be no Funeral Service.
