Mrs. Thos. Cook Died at Faribault
Friends at her former home here were grieved to learn of the sudden death of Mrs. Thos. H. Cook, which occurred at 1:15 a. m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, at her home, 1407 West Fourth Street in Faribault. Death was caused by a heart attack.
Hortense Warburton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Warburton, was born on the farm west of Elysian on June 3, 1870. Here he marriage to Thomas. H. Cook of Poplar Grove, Ill. took place Sept. 21, 1890. They took up their residence in Elysian, where Mr. Cook was employed as miller at the local flouring mill. In 1898 they moved to Sleepy Eye, where Mr. Cook was employed as miller, and resided there 15 years, then returned to Elysian, where the family remained until about 28 years ago, when they moved to Faribault, which has since been their home.
Surviving are her husband and three children, Lloyd and Mildred at home and Ronald who as Club Program Director with the American Red Cross was recently transferred from Washington, D. C. to New York. One son Ernest Arthur died in infancy. She also leaves one brother, J. Dorr Warburton of Elysian, and two sisters, Mrs. Arthur T. Adams of Minneapolis, and Mrs. Inez Kisor of Morristown, and many friends by whom she was held in the highest esteem.
Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 at the Flora Ray Parker funeral chapel, 605 Second avenue in Faribault, and at 2 o'clock from the Cathedral of Our Merciful Savior in that city, the Very Rev. Dean of Littleford officiating. Mrs. Cook was long an active member of the Episcopal Church. Interment will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Elysian.
