Gregory, South Dakota, October 1964 - Funeral services for James Allen Fulwider, 91, will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the Kotrba Funeral Home with the Rev. Arthur Orth officiating.
Interment will be in the IOOF Cemetery. Pallbearers wil be J. B. O'Neill, Don Naper, Charles Ritter, Loius Matejka, Ralph Slaughter and Frank Soesbe.
Mr. Fulwider was born Dec. 5, 1872 at Camargo, Ill., to Mr. and Mrs. Ben Fulwider. He moved with his parents to Charles Mix County [S.D.] in 1883. On January 14, 1894 he married Sally Roberts of Platte. They lived at Bijou Hills, Lake Andes and Greenwood where he was employed at the Greenwood Indian Agency. In 1902 they moved to a Lyman County ranch near Iona and for several years operated a general merchandise store at Iona. He has lived in Gregory since retiring. Mr. Fulwider was a member of the 1902 cowboy organization and participated in the last roundup of 1962.
He died at Rosebud Rest Home September 30.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Neal (Donna) Slaughter; one grandson, one granddaughter and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1956; two sons and three brothers.
