Mary Elizabeth {Dawson} Morgan, 77, passed away March 10, 1995 in Florida, Sarasota county.

She was born March 30, 1917 in Arkansas, to Harry and Anna Bell {Clevenger} Dawson.

Through the years, she claimed many states as her home including, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Oregon, California, and Florida.

During the Korean War, Mary worked as a cook for the armed forces cafeterias.

In Indiana, she was once asked to prepare a special centerpiece for an officer who had been promoted. She befriended the officer, Russell Belk, and the last year she came to VNPS, she found a very special resident here....Russell. The two became good friends all over again.

Mary, is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Anna Bell {Clevenger} Dawson; Brothers, Buck, James Denver, Ben, Harbert {Dock} Dawson, and a half-brother, Clifford Dawson; one sister, Mildred Dawson, and her husband, Clifford Morgan.

Survivors include, three sisters, Edna Lucille and husband James Rather of Caney, Oklahoma; Imogene and husband Don Wynn of Seattle, Washington; and Nell Terrel of Anna, Texas; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
