Barrera, Aaron J. 29 of Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away suddenly on Sunday November 18, 2012. Aaron was born February 6, 1983 in Waukegan and worked for Pactiv Corporation in Lake Forest for the past several years. He was an avid runner having participated in numerous 5k runs, loved boxing but his real passion was cooking. In his short 29 years, he touched many people both old and young with a global network of friends and family. He received his BS Degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale in Marketing Advertising in 2008 with a minor in Art History. Survivors include his parents, Ernest and Tammie (Dickes) Barrera of Winthrop Harbor; one brother, Arik at home; paternal grandmother, Lourdes Barrera of Winthrop Harbor; maternal grandparents, Patricia Williams of Zion, IL and William (Marie) Dickes of Eugene, Ore; his faithful companion, "Rocky" and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Felipe in 1999.
Interment in Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
