"The Lord is my strength and salvation whom shall I fear"

Tonnetta Denice Chambers, "Rat", age 49 was born to Pauline D. Wormley and the late Henry A. Goodson, Sr. on Thursday, December 22, 1962 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. She transitioned to the pearly gates of heaven, November 22, 2012.

Tonnetta accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Fifth Street Baptist Church, in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated at the early age of 16 from Highland Spring High School.

Tonnetta married her one and only love, Christopher Chambers, Jr. in holy matrimony on July 18, 1980. Their union was blessed with two children. She worked for Morton G. Thalhimers for several years before she retired and became a homemaker which she loved. There was only one "Rat" and there will never be another. She adored her family and there was nothing she wouldn't do for her family and friends. She valued each of them individually and created a circle of love, tolerance and togetherness that extended to family, friends, and neighbors. Tonnetta was lovely, creative and thoughtful. She was graceful, in a godly way. Her spirit was one in a million and we will love her forever.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Christopher Chambers, Jr; loving son, Christopher Chambers III; daughter, Tia A. Goodson; 2 granddaughters, Cayla Jewel Chambers and Adriana Nicole Minor; mother, Pauline D. Wormley(Robert); five sisters, Linda d. Daniels of Raleigh, NC, Tonya M. Furtado(Jerome), Mamie Perry (Markis), Theresa Lewis and Claudia Boddie, all of Richmond, VA; two brothers, Lorenzo L. Daniels(Patricia) of Raleigh, NC and Henry A. Goodson, Jr, of Richmond, VA; paternal grandmother, Delores Harris; two aunts, Corea Evans and Brenda W. Taylor; two uncles, J.B. Daniels of Raleigh, NC and Walter Morris Bobbit, of Piano, TX; two half-siblings, Tammy Goodson and Dwight Goodson of Raleigh, NC; father and mother in law, Christopher Chambers Sr. and Delores R. Chambers; four sister in law, Gale Diane Chambers, Dale E. Chambers, Shelia L. Pitchford(Dana) and Delores M. Damon; two brothers in law, Meloyd A Chambers(Patricia) and Linwood C. Chambers, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and numerous friends; devoted Wayne Scheider and Dana Carpenter.

We are so fortunate to have had her in our lives for so many years and we feel empty without her. Because of the wonderful love she shared, she will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts.
