Rains County Leader, June 9, 1926
Mrs. Mary E. Jones, aged 81 years, 3 months, and 1 day, died at the home of her son, Mr. J. O. Jones of the Rocky Point Community, 3 miles South of Emory, Sunday night, after an illness of some duration being unconscious the past 2 weeks and her remains were buried in the Rocky Point Cemetery.
Rev. C. M. Martin of this place conducted the services.
Grandma Jones, as she was known in the neighborhood, was the mother of 4 children, 2 of whom survive her, names J. O. Jones and Mrs. L. O. Power, both on Route 3, from Emory, besides many other relatives and friends.
Grandma Jones was a Christian being lady, member of the Methodist church and was a Bible student as long as she could read.
The family extends sincere appreciation to the neighbors and friends who were so loyal and helpful in caring for her in her last days.
