Bafus, Florence 90 July 06, 1922 Nov. 16, 2012 Florence L. Bafus, Portland, passed away on Nov. 16, 2012. Surviving are her two beloved poodles, Ginger and Sugar; brother and sister-in-law, Theodore and Elizabeth Schempp, Tamarac, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews, grand/great-nieces and nephews. Florence was born to Frank and Florence Schempp, near Malta, Mont. on July 6, 1922 and lived her early years on the family ranch in Montana. She had eight brothers and sisters. Later, the family moved to Couer d'Alene, Idaho. She married Theodore Bafus and they had two sons, Theodore and Robert. All preceded her in death. Florence lived in the Portland area most of her adult life, obtaining her Master's in Art from Portland State University. She was a teacher for the Portland Public Schools until her retirement in 1985. Service will be held 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Sunnyside Chapel of the Chimes followed by burial at Willamette National Cemetery.
