Roswell Ripley picked up his brother Charles Cresson Ripley, when he fell in front of his home at Rumsey Hill Sunday morning only to have him die in his arms. Mr. Ripley had been ill for some time and when he went out Sunday for his usual morning walk he collapsed shortly after leaving the house. His brother saw him fall and rushed to his assistance. He helped him to his feet and they were walking back to the house together when his aged brother fell dead in his arms. Mr. Ripley was 68 years of age and is survived by three brothers: Roswell, of Rumsey Hill; Philander, of Michigan, and Ezra, of Utica, NY. The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Mr. Edeen, pastor of the Baptist church f which Mr. Ripley was a member officiated; burial was in the family plot on the farm. – Mansfield Advertiser.
