CORPUS CHRISTI, TX — Lawrence Edward Ethridge Jr., born February 23, 1919, in Elton, Louisiana, passed away September 3, 1996, after a lengthy illness. He was 77.

He was born to Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence Edward Ethridge, Sr. He was a graduate of Elton High School. Ebon. Louisiana and ti»e University of Texas with a B.S. in Geology. Mr. Ethridge was a veteran of word war II serving in the Army Air Corps.
He was an independent Petroleum Geologist and Raacher. His professional memberships included the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Corpus Christi Geological Society. the Society of Independent Petroleum Earth Scenarists. the National Rise Association. President of the Gulf Coast Council
on AkahiSHsm. Board Member of the National Council on Alcoholism, member of the former president of Central the Development Board at The University of Texas Medical Branch Galveston, Cenrory Club Member and Life member of LT Exes, former board member of Corpus Christi Town Club, the Galveston Artillery Club. C.C. Country Club and both the Corpus Christi and Gahreston Yacht Clubs-

Survivors include his wife. Doris Dickinson Ethridge of Corpus Christi; daughter and son-in- law. Lawrence and Fredrick J. Bradford of Galveston; granddaughter
and grandson-in-law. Lawrence and James Coope of Lonetree. Colorado; two sisters: Louise Pratt and Verien E. Toznpkins, both of Corpus Christi: a nephew. Charles E. Pratt HI of Corpus Christi and a niece, Martha Tompkins of
Houston.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 1996, at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd with the Reverend Ned Bowersox officiating. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Refugio. Texas.

Pallbearers are Dr. Ben Groner, Don Lewis, Dr. J. Patrick Kearney, Robert Dean Hesley, Sr., Robert Dean Hesley Jr., John Piteairn, Charles E. Pratt, III, Mark Willis and Keven Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Steen, Buddy Heard, Ted Scibienski, L.D. Crumley, Tubby Weaver, William W. Bauer, Owen Scott, H.W. Jacks
HL John Heard, Brigadier Gen. James Billups and Jeff Bell.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd Memorial Fund at 700 S. Broadway, Corpus Christi, Texas 78401, Trinity Episcopal Church in Galveston or Trinity Episcopal School in Galveston.
