s/o Timothy Demonbreun, first settler of Nashville, and his mistress, Elizabeth Bennett, who was said to be Choctaw Indian. Veteran of the War of 1812. One of first settlers of Marrowbone area.
John Baptiste had at least three wives and at least 13 children. He was survived by his last wife, Catherine Binkley Demonbreun.
His burial plot is unknown but family tradition says he was buried near his family in the Carney Cemetery.
