He was born on July 6, 1934 to Oray Joseph Derbigny Sr. and Lillian Robert Derbigny in New Orleans, La. Robert was a devoted Catholic and attended mass every Sunday. He was a retired warehouse worker and an avid New Orleans Saints fan. He will be fondly remembered for his kind nature and love of children.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Mrs. Beryl Davidson (Roland); brother, Oray Joseph Derbigny Jr. (Joan); nephews, Kerry Davidson Sr., Eugene Davidson, Oray Joseph Derbigny III; nieces, Louise Davidson Mills, Shannon Spann, Lisa Connors, Tracey Stokes; a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins and his "Babies", Kaeden and Nam Do. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 28th at 9:30 AM in the chapel of Lakeside Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Trouille officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27th from 6 Pm until 8 PM and again on Wednesday from 8 AM until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM on Tuesday night. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at in Resurrection Mausoleum at Saint Louis Catholic Cemetery #3 in New Orleans, LA.
