Ruth Mattingly Bissinger Cartwright, 89, of Lexington, former long time resident of Berea, died Monday morning, November 19, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital following a short illness. She was a Jessamine County native born April 24, 1923, daughter of the late Bert and Stella Hammond Mattingly, retired Marriott Food Service employee at Berea College Food Service, member of Berea United Methodist Church, and The Methodist Women.
Survivors include her loving husband, Allen Cartwright; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 sisters. Funeral Service 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at Berea United Methodist Church with Reverends Charles Bertrand, Lee Hubbard, Clyde David Burberry, and Bill Hernard officiating. Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery in Stanford. Visitation 9:30 AM Wednesday until service time at the church.
Pallbearers will be: Keith Browning, Kelly vanDellen, George Wyatt, Charles Conley, David Billings.
