Sergeant First Class Clint Daniel Ferrin, died Saturday, March 13, 2004 of injuries sustained while on patrol in Iraq. He was serving in Delta Company 1-504 Parachute Infantry Regiment in the 82nd Airborne Division. He was born December 24, 1972 in Ogden, Utah, a son of Daniel Eldon and Rosemary Ferrin.Clint married Melinda Satterthwaite on October 28, 1995 in Ogden, Utah. Clint and Melinda were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple on January 18, 1997. He was an Eagle Scout. He attended Box Elder and Weber County schools, and graduated from Picayune High School in Mississippi in 1991. He joined the U.S. Army soon after graduating from high school and became a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division. Clint enjoyed sports, especially hockey and football. His favorite teams were the North Carolina Hurricanes and Panthers. His fellow soldiers admired him and looked up to his standard of excellence in his service. Clint has been a decorated war veteran from his service in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone and Iraq. Clint was a loving husband, son, brother and father. He was loved by his friends and family and will be dearly missed. Surviving are his wife, Melinda, and their two children, Zackery, six years old and Madison, three years old; his parents, Daniel Eldon and Rosemary Ferrin; two sisters, Sabrina Peel, Layton, UT; Amy (Jared) Bauerle, Bountiful, UT; and two brothers, John (Lisa) Ferrin, Mesa, AZ; and Brandon (Janae) Ferrin, Ogden, UT. Also surviving are his grandmothers, Mona A. Ellis, and Elaine H. Ferrin, both of Ogden, UT. Clint was preceded in death by his grandfathers, H. Eldon Ferrin and David Lindquist Ellis. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 23rd at 11 a.m. at the North Ogden/Ben Lomond Stake Center, 3610 North 650 East, Bishop Doyle Obray officiating. Family will meet with friends at Lindquist's North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd., on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at the Stake Center 9:45 to 10: 45 a.m. Interment, North Ogden/Ben Lomond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Clint Ferrin Family Memorial Fund at any branch of America First Credit Union.
