PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – Alice Evelyene Badger, who had resided in East Liverpool for most of her life, passed away near the home of her daughter at the St. Lucie Hospice House in Fort Pierce, FL, at 2:15 a.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012. She was 85.

Evelyene, as she was known, was born in East Liverpool on April 5, 1927, a daughter of the late Alvin and Martha Mellington Dray. She was a 1945 graduate of East Liverpool High School.

A longtime member of the Calcutta Church of the Nazarene, she married her husband, Earl "Richard" Badger on November 30, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2011, and Evelyene moved to Florida at that time.

She had provided a loving home for her husband and family, and had been involved in the East Liverpool Lions Club, Christian Women's Club, and the "LaCroft Girls" – her lifelong friends. In addition, Evelyene had served on the church board and had also been choir director at her church. For many years, she was known for her beautiful voice, and was often asked to sing solos at various churches in the area. At one time, she had also served as director of the Campfire Girls' choir.

Surviving her is a daughter, Deborah Sue Ludwig and her husband, Robert, of Port St. Lucie, FL, and a son, Richard A. Badger and his wife, Fonda, of Newell, WV. There are five grandchildren: Tracie Badger, Thomas Badger, Kira Badger, Lynette Buchheit Holbrook and her husband, John, and Eric R. Buchheit. In addition, there are four great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and six step great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Evelyene was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Bentz and Betty Rose.

Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
