The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bass Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with visitation there one hour before the service. The Rev. James D. Howie will officiate, and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
She was born in Mattoon on July 12, 1894, to William G. and Agnes (Brookman) Tiley. She was reared in Champaign, and with her sister, Gladys, moved in 1915 to Hillsboro, where she was employed as a secretary for New York Central Railroad.
her first husband, Attorney John Russell McDavid, died one year after their 1917 marriage. In 1922 she married W. Burress Seymour, and they resided at 902 St. Louis St. their entire married life. He was a retired Illinois Power Co. employee when he died in 1976.
Mrs. Seymour is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John (Betty McDavid) Bailey of Paris, Tex., and Mrs. Barbara Strang of Urbana. There are four grandchildren, John D. Bailey of Dallas, Tex., Michael Strang of Chicago, Julie (Strang) Hunt of Atlanta, Ga., and David Strang of Champaign; nine great-grandchildren; and one stepson, Dr. Fred McDavid of Fayetteville, N. C.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Lester and Ralph Tiley of Champaign, and a sister, Mrs. Earl (Gladys) Swingle, who with her husband operated Single's Jewelry store in Hillsboro for many years.
Mrs. Seymour was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hillsboro for over 70 years, and the family suggests memorial to that church.
