He married Julia Smith and they had four children, three of whom lived to maturity: Aubrey (Aubra) B. Mayo, born April 1861 in Pennsylvania, Victoria J. Mayo, born August 1866 in Pennsylvania, and De Forest Mayo, born July 1874 in Pennsylvania.

Well-known Merchant Passed at
His Home After a Long
Illness.
Noble C. Mayo, one of the oldest and best known merchants of this side, died yesterday morning at about 4 o'clock at his home, North Lincoln avenue and Swetland street, aged 69 years and 11 months, after a long illness.
Mr. Mayo had been a resident of this side for many years and had conducted a successful mercantile business at the corner of Swetland street and Lincoln avenue.
He was a man of great integrity of character and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
The deceased was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ezekiel Mayo and was born in Great Bend, Pa. He is survived by two sons, A. B. and D. F. Mayo; one daughter, Mrs. B. E. Sloat; and one sister, Mrs. Eliza Judd, of Great Bend.
The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Rev. Dr. O. L. Severson, of the Simpson M. E. church, will officiate and interment will be made in the Washburn Street cemetery. Beside those mentioned above, Mr. Mayo is survived by his widow."
