PRINCETON — Nancy Joan Croy, 78, of the GlenWood Park Retirement Village in Princeton, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born October 18, 1932 in Oakvale, she was the daughter of the late Rufus Pennington and Iva Ayers Pennington. She was a homemaker and babysat children in her home for many years. Nancy was a very active member of the Goodwyn's Chapel Church of Christ prior to her declining health and had lived most of her life in the Oakvale area. She was a graduate of Oakvale High School. In addition to her parents, her husband, Bernard Croy; two sisters, Sybil Pennington and Doris Hale; and one brother, Eugene Pennington preceded her in death.Survivors include two sons, Larry Croy and wife Sharon and Curtis Croy and wife LeAnn, all of Princeton; three grandchildren, David Croy, Jeremy Croy and wife Afton, and Laura Croy; one great-granddaughter, Annabelle Croy; two sisters, Phyllis Hager and husband the Reverend Chester Hager and Linda Wray and husband Doyle, all of Princeton; one brother, Randolph Pennington of Princeton; one sister-in-law, Shelby Pennington of Princeton; and extended family of special caregivers at GlenWood Park Retirement Village.Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2011 at the G.E. Davis Chapel of Fredeking Funeral Service in Oakvale with Pastor Rob Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow at the Oakvale Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Sheets. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour on Saturday.
