The service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Feiser Funeral Home Inc., 302 Lincoln Way West, New Oxford. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in Abbottstown, Adams County, Pa. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kinneman was born May 10, 1909, in Carroll County, Md. She was the daughter of the late Edward J. and Mary M. (Smith) Bankert.
She worked for Abbottstown Garment Co., retiring in 1972. She was a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Abbottstown, East Berlin Senior Citizens and Hanover American Association of Retired Persons; and a life member of Abbottstown Fire Company.
Mrs. Kinneman is survived by a son, Victor G. Kinneman of Hanover; five daughters, Esther M. Kinneman of Abbottstown, Edith K. Moose of Hanover, Ethel M. Roche of Mechanicsburg, Eileen Kinneman of Gettysburg and Eudora L. "Dorie" Keffer of McSherrystown; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Kinneman was preceded in death by a son, Guy R. Kinneman Jr.
It was reported to me that a friend who knew her at the Brethren Home thought she was a very sweet lady and she is remembered fondly by "Max" as well as by her family and other friends.
(Corrected name of cemetery that she was buried in on 4/25/14. The obit had that she was buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hanover. This was incorrect as she is buried in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Abbottstown, Pa. beside her husband, Guy Kinneman, Sr. Also, corrected in Obit that Ruth's mother's name was not Mary N., but Mary M. which is the way it is on her Mother's stone. Ruth's parents are laid to rest in this same cemetery that Ruth is in.)
Note: This picture of Guy and Ruth Kinneman was taken by their grandson, Dave Kuhn. At the Kinneman Reunion 2015, he told me he remembered the day the picture was taken and seeing it on find a grave brought back many good memories of his grand parents. Dave is the son of their daughter, Esther Kinneman.
It is feedback like this that keeps a find a grave contributor going, the time and hours are well worth it if we help one person remember the memories of loved ones gone on to the Big Reunion.
