Died Near Waverly - Mrs. A.M. Eley, Formerly of This City, Passes Away
At her home, near Waverly, Va., at five minutes past 12 o'clock this morning, Mrs. A.M. Eley, formerly of this city, passed away after quite a brief illness. Mrs. Eley with her husband and family resided in this city up to last Christmas, when they moved to their present home, to be near Mr. Eley's business, which is centered in that section. While she resided in this city the deceased lady made hosts of warm friends who will be pained to hear of her death.
At all times Mrs. Eley was interested in church work and was a devout member of the Christian Memorial Temple, while she resided in Norfolk, and was always active in the work of the church.
The deceased lady leaves, besides a husband to mourn her death, ten children, among them being Mrs. E. P. Odendhal and Mrs. W.R. Matthews of this city, and Mrs J.M. Hamrick of Mount Airy, North Carolina. Mrs Eley also leaves two sons. Messrs. William M. Eley and A. Rudolph Eley.
Funeral Services over the remains of the deceased lady will be conducted in the Christian Memorial Temple in Branbleton, Sunday, but the hour of the services has not as yet been decided upon.
